How to Pair Visual Trackers With Numbers in a Golf Lesson

A simple way to combine the Sportsbox 3D avatar, continuous Trackers, and event-based Indicators without overwhelming the golfer.

Show the movement before explaining the metric

Visual Trackers appear on or around the Sportsbox 3D avatar. They represent biomechanical measurements such as position, speed, and angle throughout the swing.

Begin with the visual that best matches the coaching question. Let the golfer see the movement on the avatar before adding several numbers or technical labels.

Add the matching Tracker

A Tracker is a continuous measurement across the swing. Pair the visual with the corresponding data tile—such as chest turn, pelvis turn, chest sway, or pelvis lift—so the golfer can connect what they see with what Sportsbox measures.

Keep the active set focused. Sportsbox allows coaches to select and reorder Trackers in a 3D session, which makes it possible to place the lesson’s priority measurement first.

Scrub to the meaningful moment

Move through the swing and watch the visual and Tracker update together. Pause at the event that matters to the lesson, but use the motion before and after that point to explain how the golfer arrived there.

If a single reference value will help, use the relevant Indicator. The visual provides context; the Indicator makes the selected event easier to compare later.

Explain it in golfer language

Translate the metric into the movement the golfer is trying to make. Instead of listing several values, connect one visual, one measurement, and one coaching priority.

After the intervention, record another swing and revisit the same visual, Tracker, and Indicator. This keeps the feedback loop consistent and makes the change easier for both coach and golfer to evaluate.
